Rabbit Anti-Cytochrome c, somatic
Cytochrome C is located in the mitochondria of all aerobic cells and is involved in the electron transport system. Human cytochrome c has 104 amino acid residues and a molecular weight of 11,458 and is mapped to 7p15.2. Cytochrome c released from mitochondria has been proposed to be an essential component of an apoptotic pathway responsive to DNA damage and other forms of cell stress. And it has a role in different apoptotic signaling cascades.
Applications
Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin and Frozen), and Immunocytochemistry.

Storage and Stability
Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence at the C-terminal of human Cytochrome C, identical to the related mouse and rat sequence.
