IL-1 beta, Interleukin-1 beta, IL-1ß, catabolin

IL-1B (also known as Interleukin-1B, IL-1B and catabolin) is produced by activated macrophages. IL-1 stimulates thymocyte proliferation by inducing IL-2 release, B-cell maturation and proliferation, and fibroblast growth factor activity. IL-1 proteins are involved in the inflammatory response, being identified as endogenous pyrogens, and are reported to stimulate the release of prostaglandin and collagenase from synovial cells. IL-1B is a monomeric secreted protein that may be released by damaged cells or is secreted by a mechanism differing from that used for other secretory proteins. IL-1B is ideal for investigators involved in cardiovascular and immunology research.

Applications
Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, ELISA, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Immunofluorescence: 1:50-1:250 ELISA: 1:1000-1:5000 Western Blot: 1:500-1:2000 Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:250 Immunoprecipitation: 1:200-1:800 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Recombinant protein corresponding to mouse IL-1B expressed in E.coli.
Form
Supplied as a lyophilized powder in 0.02M PBS, pH 7.2. Reconstitute with sterile dH2O.
Purity
Purified by DEAE chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes mouse Il-1B. Species Crossreactivity: rat.
