RFP (Discosoma spp.) are intended for use in immunological assays including ELISA, western blotting, fluorometry and fluorescence activated cell sorting (FACS).
Applications
Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Immunofluorescence. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions
ELISA: 1:28,700-1:48,700. Western Blot: 1:1000-1:5000 Immunohistochemistry: 1:200-1:2000 Immunofluorescence: 1:200-1:2000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Immunogen
Recombinant protein corresponding to full length RFP (234aa), derived from the mushroom polyp coral Discosoma.
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2, 0.01% sodium azide.
Purity
Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes Red Fluorescent Protein. Expected to react with mCherry, tdTomato, mBanana, mOrange, mPlum, mOrange and mStrawberry. Assay by Immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-rabbit serum and purified and partially purified Red Fluorescent Protein (Discosoma).
