Mouse Anti-BDNF (Brain-derived Neurotrophic Factor, ANON2, BULN2)
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the nerve growth factor family. It is induced by cortical neurons, and is necessary for survival of striatal neurons in the brain. Expression of this gene is reduced in both Alzheimer's and Huntington disease patients. This gene may play a role in the regulation of stress response and in the biology of mood disorders. Multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been described for this gene.
Applications
Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunofluorescence/Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
ELISA: 1:10,000 Western Blot: 1:500-1:2000 Immunofluorescence (IC): 1:200-1:1000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Recombinant protein corresponding to aa19-248 fom human BDNF expressed in E. coli.

Supplied as a liquid in PBS, 0.05% sodium azide.
Specificity
Recognizes human BDNF.
