Rabbit Anti-Lipotropin, beta (Beta-LPH, Lipotropin Beta, Pro-opiomelanocortin, POMC)

Human beta-Lipotropin is a 93aa polypeptide that is cleaved from carboxy-terminal fragment of the precursor pro-opiomelanocortin (POMC). It stimulates melanocytes to produce melanin, and can also be cleaved into smaller peptides including opioid peptides: gamma-lipotropin, alpha-MSH, beta-MSH, gamma-MSH, alpha-endorphin, beta-endorphin, gamma-endorphin and met-enkephalin

Applications
Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Immunofluorescence: 5-15ug/ml Immunohistochemistry: 5-10ug/ml. (formalin fixed/paraffin embedded tissues, 4% paraformaldehyde fixed frozen tissues) Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to aa179-267 of human Beta-Lipotropin, conjugated to thyroglobulin.
Form
Supplied as a lyophilized powder in BSA. Reconstitute with 500ul PBS, pH 7.4.
Purity
Purified
Specificity
Recognizes human Beta Lipoprotein. Species Crossreactivity: Rat, mouse. Cross-reactivity with other opioid peptides is as follows: Leu-enkephalin 0.01%; Met-Enkephalin 0.01%; beta-endorphin 0.01%.

Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
