Potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily A member 1, also known as Kv1.1, is a shaker related voltage-gated potassium channel that in humans is encoded by the KCNA1 gene. It is mapped to 12p13.32. The protein functions as a potassium selective channel through which the potassium ion may pass through in consensus with the electrochemical gradient. The N-terminus of the channel is associated with beta subunits that can modify the inactivation properties of the channel as well as affect expression levels. The C-terminus of the channel is complexed to a PDZ domain protein that is responsible for channel targeting.

Applications
Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Western Blot: 0.1-0.5ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to aa465-481, IAHYRQVNIRTANCTTA, from human Kv1.1 potassium channel at C-terminus, different from the related mouse sequence by 2aa, and from the related rat sequence by 4aa.
Form
Supplied as a lyophilized powder from PBS, 5% BSA, 0.05% thimerosal, 0.05% sodium azide. Reconstitute with 200ul sterile dH2O.
Purity
Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes human Kv1.1 potassium channel. Species Crossreactivity: mouse and rat

Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
