Rabbit Anti-Survivin (API4, Apoptosis Inhibitor 4, Apoptosis Inhibitor Survivin, Apoptosis Inhibitor4, Baculoviral IAP Repeat Containing 5, Baculoviral IAP Repeat Containing 5, Baculoviral IAP Repeat Containing Protein 5, Baculoviral IAP Repeat-containing Protein 5, BIRC 5, BIRC5, BIRC5_HUMAN, EPR 1, IAP4, Survivin Variant 3 alpha, SVV, TIAP)

Survivin, also called baculoviral inhibitor of apoptosis repeat-containing 5 or BIRC5, is a protein that in humans encoded by the BIRC5 gene. Survivin is a member of the inhibitor of apoptosis (IAP) family. The survivin gene contains 4 exons. This gene is mapped to chromosome 17q25 by pulsed field gel electrophoresis and single- and 2-color FISH. The survivin protein functions as inhibitor caspase activation, thereby leading to negative regulation of apoptosis or programmed cell death. The survivin protein is expressed highly in most human tumors and fetal tissue, but is completely absent in terminally differentiated cells.

Applications
Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Western Blot: 0.1-0.5ug/ml, the detection limit is ~0.25ng/lane under reducing conditions. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile dH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
Recombinant protein corresponding to mouse Survivin expressed in E. coli. (Position: M1-A140). Species sequence homology: human (85%) and rat (91%)
Form
Supplied as a lyophilized powder from PBS, 5% BSA, 0.05% sodium azide. Reconstitute with 200ul sterile dH2O.
Purity
Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes mouse Survivin.

Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
