Rabbit Anti-CIB1 (Calcium And Integrin Binding Protein 1, CIB, KIP, SIP2-28, CIBP, PRKDCIP, Calmyrin, DNA-PKcs-interacting protein, Kinase-interacting protein, SNK-interacting protein 2-28)
Calcium and integrin-binding protein 1 is a member of the calcium-binding protein family. The specific function of this protein has not yet been determined; however this protein is known to interact with DNA-dependent protein kinase and may play a role in kinase-phosphatase regulation of DNA end joining. This protein also interacts with integrin alpha(IIb)beta(3), which may implicate this protein as a regulatory molecule for alpha(IIb)beta(3).Gel filtration and sedimentation equilibrium analyses showed that only a small percentage of CIB1 formed dimers, with most CIB1 remaining monomeric in the presence or absence of Ca(2+). The calculated molecular mass of CIB1 is 21.7kD, but the protein had an apparent molecular mass of either 26.9 or 30.6kD, depending on the method used, most likely due to its irregular shape.
