Rabbit Anti-MC2 Receptor (Adrenocorticotropic Hormone Receptor)
Adrenocorticotropic hormone receptor, ACTH receptor, ACTH-R, Adrenocorticotropin receptor, Melanocortin receptor 2, MC2-R, MC2R, ACTHR

Melanocortin-2 receptor (MC2R), also known as ACTH receptor (ACTHR), is a member of the G protein-coupled receptor family. This gene is mapped to 18p11.2. MC2R is selectively activated by adrenocorticotropic hormone, whereas the other four melanocortin receptors recognize a variety of melanocortin ligands. Mutations in MC2R can result in familial glucocorticoid deficiency. Alternate transcript variants have been found for this gene.

Applications
Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Western Blot: 0.1-0.5ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile dH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to aa268-297, NAVIDPFIYAFRSPELRDAFKKMIFCSRYW from human MC2 receptor at C-terminal, different from the related mouse sequence by 4aa.
Form
Supplied as a lyophilized powder from PBS, 5% BSA, 0.05% sodium azide. Reconstitute with 200ul sterile ddH2O.
Purity
Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes MC2 receptor. Species Crossreactivity: mouse

Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
