VEGF, a homodimeric glycoprotein of relative molecular mass 45,000, is the only mitogen that specifically acts on endothelial cells. It may be a major regulator of tumor angiogenesis in vivo. It is, however, structurally related to platelet-derived growth factor. VEGF shares homology with the PDGF A chain and B chain, including conservation of all 8 cysteines found in PDGFA and PDGFB. VEGF gene contains 8 exons. And VEGF induces remodeling and enhances TH2-mediated sensitization and inflammation in the lung. This gene can also regulate hematopoietic stem cell survival by an internal autocrine loop mechanism Also stimulates neurogenesis in vitro and in vivo.
Applications
Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Western Blot: 0.1-0.5ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile dH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
Recombinant protein corresponding to mouse VEGF (Position: A27-R214), expressed in E. coli. Species sequence homology: human (89.4%), rat (98.4%).
Form
Supplied as a lyophilized powder from PBS, 5% BSA, 0.05% sodium azide. Reconstitute with 200ul sterile ddH2O.

Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography.
