TROP1, Epithelial cell adhesion molecule, Epithelial specific antigen, ESA, CD326
Epithelial cellular adhesion molecule (EpCAM), is also identified as epithelial specific antigen (ESA) and the 40kDa transmembrane epithelial glycoprotein EGP40. EpCAM is expressed on the baso-lateral cell surface in most simple epithelia and a vast majority of carcinomas. EpCAM antibody is also useful in distinguishing serous carcinomas of the ovary from mesothelioma.
378292 has been used to distinguish adenocarcinoma from pleural mesothelioma and hepatocellular carcinoma. This antibody is also useful in distinguishing serous carcinomas of the ovary from mesothelioma.
Applications
Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Flow Cytometry and Immunofluorescence. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Western Blot: 0.5-1ug/ml Flow Cytometry: 0.5-1ug/10e6cells in 100ul Immunofluorescence (IC): 1-2ug/ml Immunohistochemistry (formalin-fixed paraffin sections): 0.5-1ug/ml. Requires heating tissue sections in 10mM Tris with 1mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C followed by cooling at RT for 20 minutes. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Immunogen
Neuraminidase treated GLS-1 human small cell lung carcinoma cells.
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, 0.05% BSA, 0.05% sodium azide.
Purity
Purified by Protein G affinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes human EpCAM. The binding epitope of this antibody is located in the first EGF-like repeat domain (EGF1) between aa27-59 of Ep-CAM. Does not react with rat, canine or feline.
