Melanotransferrin (Melanoma-associated antigen p97) (CD antigen CD228), MELTF, MAP97 MFI2
Involved in iron cellular uptake. Seems to be internalized and then recycled back to the cell membrane. Binds a single atom of iron per subunit. Could also bind zinc.
Applications
Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Immunofluorescence. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Western Blot: 1:500-1:5000 Immunohistochemistry: 1:20-1:200 Immunofluorescence: 1:50-1:200 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Recombinant protein corresponding to aa20-302 from human Melanotransferrin protein.
Form
Supplied as a liquid in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 0.03% Proclin 300, 50% glycerol.
Purity
Purified by Protein G affinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes human MELTF.
