Otogelin, OTOG, OTGN
Glycoprotein specific to acellular membranes of the inner ear. May be required for the anchoring of the otoconial membranes and cupulae to the underlying neuroepithelia in the vestibule. May be involved in the organization and/or stabilization of the fibrillar network that compose the tectorial membrane in the cochlea. May play a role in mechanotransduction processes (By similarity).
Applications
Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunohistochemistry and Immunofluorescence. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Immunohistochemistry: 1:200-1:500 Immunofluorescence: 1:50-1:200 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1634-1796 from human Otogelin protein.
Form
Supplied as a liquid in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 0.03% Proclin 300, 50% glycerol.
Purity
Purified by Protein G affinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes human OTOG.
