Mouse Anti-Activin B
Activin B is a TGF-b family member that exhibits a wide range of biological activities including regulation of embryogenesis, osteogenesis, hematopoiesis, reproductive physiology and hormone secretion from the hypothalamic, pituitary and gonadal glands. Activin B, like certain other members of the TGF-b family, signals through the ActRII receptor (Activin Receptor type II). Human Activin B is a 26.0kD disulfide-linked homodimer consisting of two bB chains, each containing 115 amino acid residues.
Applications
Suitable for use in Neutralization, ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions
Western Blot: 1ug/ml Neutralization: 0.6-3ug/ml in the presence of 7.5ng/ml recombinant human Activin B Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Immunogen
Recombinant protein corresponding to Gly293-Ala407 of human Activin B, expressed in CHO cells
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.4, 5% trehalose
Purity
Purified by Protein G affinity chromatography from hybridoma culture supernatant. Endotoxin: ≤0.1EU/ug (LAL)
Specificity
Recognizes human Activin B. Does not crossreact with recombinant human Inhibin B or recombinant Activin A. In western Blots, ~20% crossreactivity with recombinant Inhibin B and does not crossreact with recombinant human Activin A or recombinant mouse Activin A.
