MaxLight™550 is a new Yellow-Green photostable dye conjugate comparable to Alexa Fluor™546, 555, DyLight™549 , Cy3™, TRITC and offers better labeling efficiency, brighter imaging and increased immunodetection. Absorbance (550nm); Emission (575nm); Extinction Coefficient 150,000.

Adenoviruses are 65-80nm, non-enveloped, regular icosahedron pathogens often associated with respiratory and gastrointestinal illness as well as conjunctivitis. Well over 40 types of adenoviruses have currently been recognized. In addition to their deleterious effects, adenoviruses have been used in vaccine production and in gene therapy. They also have the ability to trigger cell proliferation by interfering with host cellular anti-oncogenes. Since they are easy to prepare, multiple quickly and efficiently, and have the ability to infect and deliver their genome (including researcher-created constructs) to the nucleus of a variety of post-mitotic cells, adenoviruses are extremely valuable in research and medical applications ranging from virus/host cell interaction to the insertion of novel genes or regulatory mechanisms into eukaryotic cellular systems, to delivery of therapeutic anti-cancer genes.
Applications
Suitable for use in FLISA and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilution
Immunohistochemistry (Frozen, paraffin): Requires protein digestion pre-treatment of paraffin sections (trypsin or pronase) prior to staining. Optimal working dilutions to be determined by researcher.
Hybridoma
JK.Ag8.653 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice.
Storage and Stability
Store product at 4°C in the dark. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C for 12 months after receipt as an undiluted liquid. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: MaxLight™550 conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
Immunogen
Adenovirus type 3 (ATCC strain VR847).
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2. Labeled with MaxLight™550.
Purity
Purified by Protein A affinity chromatography from tissue cuture supernatant.
Specificity
Recognizes all Adenovirus serotypes; binds to the hexon polypeptide.
