Goat Anti-ALS2CR2 (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis 2 chromosomal region candidate gene 2 protein, CALS-21, ILP-interacting protein, ILPIP, ILPIPA, MGC102916, PAPK, PRO1038, Pseudokinase ALS2CR2, Serine/threonine-protein kinase ALS2CR2, STE20-related kinase adaptor beta, STRADB, STRAD beta)
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis 2 (juvenile) chromosome region, candidate 2, is connected to transferase/kinase activity and ATP binding, it has recently been shown to interact with XIAP, a member of the IAP (Inhibitor of Apoptosis) protein family. Together, these two proteins synergistically activate the TAK1/JNK1 signal transduction pathway, which acts to protect against the interleukin-1 converting enzyme of Fas-induced apotosis. This protein was independently isolated and characterized as polyploidy-associated protein kinase (PAPK), a member of the Ste20/germinal center kinase family that modulates cytoskeletal organization and cell survival, suggesting that its protective role may be a function of its kinase activity. Although two mRNA sequences have been isolated, only the shorter isoform has been observed.
Applications
Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
ELISA: 1:32000 Western Blot: 1-3ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to ALS2CR2.
Form
Supplied as a liquid in Tris-saline, pH 7.2, 0.5% BSA, 0.02% sodium azide.
Purity
Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes human ALS2CR2 at ~35kD in Human Heart, Liver and Muscle lysates (calculated MW of 47.0kD according to NP_061041.2 (alpha isoform) and 31.2kD according to AAF71042.1 (beta isoform). This is expected to recognize both human isoforms: ILPIP-alpha (NP_061041.2) and ILPIP-beta (AAF71042.1). Species Crossreactivity: Canine.
