Goat Anti-DAO (D-amino-acid Oxidase, DAAO, DAMOX)

Regulates the level of the neuromodulator D-serine in the brain. Has high activity towards D-DOPA and contributes to dopamine synthesis. Could act as a detoxifying agent which removes D-amino acids accumulated during aging. Acts on a variety of D-amino acids with a preference for those having small hydrophobic side chains followed by those bearing polar, aromatic, and basic groups. Does not act on acidic aas.

Applications
Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
ELISA: 1:1000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to C-QVEAPWIKHFILTHD, from DAO, at the internal region of the protein (NP_034148.2).
Form
Supplied as a liquid in Tris saline, 0.02% sodium azide, pH 7.3, 0.5% BSA.
Purity
Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes DAO. Species sequence homology: mouse and rat.

Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
