Sheep Anti-Amylase, Salivary (alpha-Amylase, AMY1, Amylase alpha 1A Salivary, Amylase Salivary alpha 1A, AMY1A, Amylase alpha 1B Salivary, Amylase Salivary alpha 1B, AMY1B, Amylase alpha 1C Salivary, Amylase Salivary alpha 1C, AMY1C, 1,4-alpha-D-glucan Glucanohydrolase, Glycogenase, Salivary alpha Amylase) (HRP)

Salivary Amylase is a digestive enzyme secreted by salivary glands, it consists of a single polypeptide chain with a molecular weight of 56kD (family B) or 62kD (family A), the difference in molecular weight being due to the presence or absence of a carbohydrate moiety. The total serum concentration of amylase is about 120g/L of which about 50% is salivary amylase. Although salivary amylase and pancreatic amylase share 95% aa sequence homology, they differ in molecular size, isoelectricpoint and antigenic properties.

Applications
Suitable for use in ELISA and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
ELISA: 1:50-1:500 Immunohistochemistry: frozen Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Labeled with horseradish peroxidase (HRP). Sodium azide is a potent inhibitor of peroxidase and should not be added to HRP conjugates. HRP conjugates are sensitive to light.
Immunogen
Highly pure human salivary amylase
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.4, 0.01% thimerosal. Labeled with horseradish peroxidase (HRP).
Purity
Purified by affinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes human Amylase, Salivary. Species sequence homology: porcine: 50%, fungal: 10%

Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
