Goat Anti-Ankyrin G (Ankyrin-3, Node of Ranvier, Ankyrin G119, Ankyrin 3, FLJ45464, RP11-369L1.1, Node of Ranvier [ankyrin G], ANK3)

Ankyrin G is found in several tissues including brain where, due to tissue-specific RNA processing, it is expressed as two different isoforms, localized to axon initial segments and nodes of Ranvier. Ankyrin G is also found at sites of epithelial cell- cell contact and in the intracellular membranes of some cells. Ankyrin G isoforms contain a unique stretch of sequence highly enriched in serine and threonine residues immediately following a globular head domain. Ankyrin G is thought to participate in the maintenance and targeting of ion channels and cell adhesion molecules to the nodes of Ranvier and to axon initial segments.

Applications
Suitable for use in ELISA and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Peptide ELISA: 1:16,000 Western Blot: 3-5ug/ml. Testing in paraffin-embedded human nerve bundles shows bright staining of axons. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to C-SWQNETSSGNLE from the intermal region of human Ankyrin G. Species sequence homology: bovine, mouse and rat.
Form
Supplied as a liquid in Tris saline, pH 7.3, 0.5% BSA, 0.02% sodium azide.
Purity
Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes human Ankyrin G.

Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
