Rabbit Anti-Apg12 (Autophagy-related 12, 4931423H11Rik, A330058M13Rik, Atg12, Apg12L, APG12-like, Atg12L, Autophagy-related protein 12) (MaxLight 650)

MaxLight™ 650 is a new Far-IR stable dye conjugate comparable to Alexa Fluor™647, DyLight™649, Cy5™ and offers better labeling efficiency, brighter imaging and increased immunodetection. Absorbance (655nm); Emission (676nm); Extinction Coefficient 250,000.

Autophagy is the major pathway for proteins and organelles being delivered to the lysosome or vacuole for degradation. Autophagy-mediated degradation may be important during mammalian embryogenesis, differentiation, aging, and non-apoptotic programmed cell death. Dysfunction in autophagic degradation has been observed in a number of genetic diseases, particularly in cancer, and may also be associated with neurodegenerative conditions such as Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease. The Apg12 system is a ubiquitin-like protein conjugation system, first discovered in autophagy-defective yeast mutants, that is conserved in eukaryotes. Covalent attachment of Apg12-Apg5 is required for autophagy; the Apg7 and Apg10 enzymes that catalyze this attachment are analogous to the E1 and E2 enzymes of the ubiquitin-proteasome degradation pathway.
Applications
Suitable for use in FLISA, Immunoprecipitation and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilutions
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Store product at 4°C in the dark. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C for 12 months after receipt as an undiluted liquid. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: MaxLight™650 conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to the internal region of the human Apg12 protein. Species Sequence Homology: mouse.
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2. No preservatives added. Labeled with MaxLight™650.
Purity
Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes human Apg12 protein at ~22kD, as well as additional bands between 40 and 80kD of unknown origin. Reactivity has been confirmed with Apg12-transfected, overexpressed HEK293 cell lysates.

Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
