APOA-1 is a major protein of plasma HDL. It participates in the reverse transport of cholesterol from tissues to the liver for excretion. APOA1 is a cofactor for LCAT, which is responsible for the formation of most plasma cholesteryl esters.

Suitable for use in ELISA and RIA. Other applications not tested.

5x10e6 L/mole. Determined by RIA followed by Scatchard Plot analysis.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Specificity
