Rabbit Anti-Bax (BCL2-associated X Protein, Apoptosis Regulator BAX, BAX Protein, Bcl-2-like Protein 4, BCL2L4, Bcl2-L-4)
Apoptosis Regulator BAX Cytoplasmic Isoform beta, Apoptosis Regulator BAX Membrane Isoform alpha, BAX Protein, Cytoplasmic Isoform delta, BAX Protein, Cytoplasmic Isoform gamma

Bax is a member of the Bcl-2 family of proteins which act as anti- or pro-apoptotic regulators. Bax forms a heterodimer with Bcl-2 and functions as an apoptotic activator by accelerating programmed cell death. Bax expression is regulated by the tumor suppressor p53 and has been shown to be involved in p53-mediated apoptosis. A number of Bax isoforms are produced from alternative splicing.

Applications
Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions
Western Blot: 0.1-0.5ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C. Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to aa68-81, DELDSNMELQRMIA from the human Bax alpha isoform conjugated to BSA. Species sequence homology: mouse.
Form
Supplied as a lyophilized powder from PBS, 5% BSA, 0.05% thimerosal, 0.05% sodium azide. Reconstitute with 100ul sterile ddH20.
Purity
Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes human Bax at ~21kD. Species Crossreactivity: rat.
