Goat Anti-Brix Domain Containing 2 (BXDC2, FLJ11100, Ribosome biogenesis protein Brix, BRIX)

BRIX (Biogenesis of ribosomes in Xenopus; also BRIX domain-containing protein 2) is a 41kD (predicted) member of the BXDC2 family of proteins. It is found in nucleoli, and appears to participate in the formation of a complex associated with pre-rRNA and enzymes that generate 60S ribosomal subunits. Human BRIX is 353 amino acids in length. It is characterized by the presence of a BRIX domain that lies between aa 60-249. There is one splice variant that shows a 17aa substitution for aa11-27. Over aa131-353, human BRIX shares 93% aa identity with mouse BRIX.

Applications
Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Western Blot: 1ug/ml ELISA: 0.5-1ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS, sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
E. coli-derived, recombinant human BRIX (aa131-353).
Form
Supplied as a lyophilized powder from 0.2um filtered solution in PBS, 5% trehalose. Reconstitute with sterile PBS.
Purity
Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes human BRIX. Species sequence homology: mouse (93%).

Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
