Rabbit Anti-C1 Esterase Inhibitor (C1IN, C1 Inh, C1Inh, C1-INH, C1NH, C1-inhibiting Factor, HAE1, HAE2, Plasma Protease C1 Inhibitor, Serpin G1, SERPING1) (Not for Export EU)
Serpin Peptidase Inhibitor, Clade G (C1 Inhibitor), Member 1

C1 esterase inhibitor is a single chain acid glycoprotein with a molecular weight of 110000. The protein has a high carbohydrate content. In immunoelectrophoresis it has an alpha mobility. The concentration in normal serum ranges from 150 to 350ug/ml. Reduced levels are observed in hereditary angioedema. It regulates the activation of complement factor C1 as well as the activity of activated C1 by coupling with the active catalytic site at the light chains of C1r and C1s. Moreover it also inhibits, kallikrein, Factor XI and Factor XII.

Applications
Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunoelectrophoresis and Radial Immunodiffusion. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Immunoelectrophoresis: 120ul against 2ul human plasma or equivalent Double Radial Immunodiffusion: Use a rosette arrangement with 10ul in 3mm diameter center well and 2ul plasma samples (neat and serially diluted) in 2mm diameter peripheral wells. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
Human C1 Esterase Inhibitor
Form
Supplied as a lyophilized powder. Reconstitute in 1ml sterile ddH2O. Dilute further in PBS, pH 7.2.
Purity
Serum
Specificity
Recognizes C1 Esterase Inhibitor. In immunoelectrophoresis and radial immunodiffusion (Ouchterlony) against fresh normal human plasma a single precipitin line is obtained which shows a reaction of identity with the precipitin line obtained with purified C1 esterase inhibitor. No reaction is obtained with any other plasma protein component or serum. Does not crossreact with any other component of human plasma.

Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
