Mouse Anti-c-myc (Myc, myc-1, Cellular myelocytomatosis oncogene, Myc2, Niard, Nird, Transcription factor p64, v-myc avian myelocytomatosis viral oncogene homolog) (BSA & Azide Free) (PE)

c-myc is involved in the control of cell proliferation and differentiation. Translocation of the c-myc locus on chromosome 8 to the immunoglobulin loci on chromosome 14 (heavy chain); 2 (k light chain); or 22 (l light chain) is described in Burkitt’s lymphoma and other B-cell lympho-proliferative conditions. An aberrant expression of the c-myc gene occurs in tumors of different origins such as colorectal, gastric, gallbladder, hepatic, mammary, ovarian, endometrial, head and neck, pulmonary, prostatic, thyroidal, oral, ocular, nasopharyngeal, endocrine, as well as hematopoietic neoplasms.

Hybridoma: Produced by the fusion between BALB/c splenocytes and mouse myeloma SP2 cells.
Applications: Electron Microscopy, Flow Cytometry, Immunofluorescence, Immunohistochemistry (frozen & formalin/paraffin), Affinity Purification, Immunoprecipitation (Clone-1 is better), Western Blotting of fusion proteins labeled with EQKLISEEDL tag.
Not assessed for ELISA. Not recommended for Immunoprecipitation (of c-myc) or Western Blotting (of c-myc).
Recommended Dilution
Immunohistochemistry: 4ug/ml Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 for 10-20 min., followed by cooling at RT for 20 min.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to residues 408-439 (AEEQKLISEEDLLRKRREQLKHKLEQLRNSCA) from the C-terminus of human c-myc, coupled to KLH.
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2. No preservative added. Labeled with R-Phycoerythrin (PE).
Purity
Purified by Protein G affinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes c-myc at 64-67kDa. The epitope spans residues 410-419 (EQKLISEEDL) of the human c-myc protein. Species crossreactivity: Human. Does not react with mouse, rat or chicken.

Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
