Rabbit Anti-Calmodulin Binding Protein Epitope Tag (CBP-Tag) (MaxLight 490)

MaxLight™490 is a new Blue-Green photostable dye conjugate comparable to DyLight™488, Alexa Fluor™488 and offers better labeling efficiency, brighter imaging and increased immunodetection. Absorbance (491nm); Emission (515nm); Extinction Coefficient 73,000.

Calmodulin (CaM), a small 17 kDa ubiquitous Ca2+-binding protein acts as an intracellular Ca2+ receptor and transduces Ca2+ transients, usually in response to growth factors. It mediates the activity of a number of Ca2+ regulating enzymes, including protein kinases, phosphatases, nitric oxide synthases, and phosphodiesterase.
Applications
Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions
Western Blot: 1:5000. Detects a recombinant protein containing the calmodulin binding protein epitope tag in lysates from transformed E. coli. Lysates from E. coli transformed with a plasmid encoding a GST-CBP, calmodulin binding protein epitope tagged. Proteins were resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to nitrocellulose and probed with C1035-09. Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-rabbit secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and a chemiluminescence detection system. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Recommended Secondary Antibodies
I1904-39: IgG, X-Adsorbed (HRP) Pab Gt xRb I1904-40A: IgG, H&L, X-Adsorbed (HRP) Pab Gt xRb I1904-46Q: IgG, H&L (HRP) Pab Gt xRb
Storage and Stability
Store product at 4°C in the dark. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C for 12 months after receipt as an undiluted liquid. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: MaxLight™490 conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
Immunogen
A synthetic peptide, MKRRWKKNFIAVSAANRFKKISSSGAL corresponding to the Calmodulin Binding Protein (CBP) epitope tag found in several E. coli expression vectors (KLH).
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2. No preservative added. Labeled with MaxLight™490.
Purity
Purified by affinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes recombinant proteins containing the calmodulin binding protein epitope tag. Species sequence homology: rabbit, mouse and rat.

Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
