Mouse Anti-CAR (Coxsackie Adenovirus Receptor) (MaxLight 650)

MaxLight™650 is a new Far-IR stable dye conjugate comparable to Alexa Fluor™647, DyLight™649, Cy5™ and offers better labeling efficiency, brighter imaging and increased immunodetection. Absorbance (655nm); Emission (676nm); Extinction Coefficient 250,000.

The coxsackie virus and adenovirus receptor (CAR) mediates cell attachment and infection by coxsackie B viruses and by a number of adenoviruses. CAR also mediates homotypic intercellular interactions. In polarized epithelial cells, CAR is closely associated with the tight junction, where it contributes to the barrier to paracellular flow of solutes and macromolecules. CAR's biological roles are not well defined, but emerging evidence suggests that it may function during embryonic development and in regulating cell proliferation.
Applications
Suitable for Western Blot and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilutions
Western Blot: 1:500 detects CAR on 10ug of mouse small intestine lysates. Mouse small intestine lysate was resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to PVDF membrane and probed with C1079. Proteins were visualized using an IgG (HRP) goat anti-mouse and a chemiluminescence detection system. Immunocytochemistry: 1-2ug/ml shows positive immunostaining for CAR in HeLa cells, hCAR transfected CHO cells, but not in untransfected CHO cells fixed with 4% paraformaldehyde and permeabilized with 0.2% Triton-X. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Positive Control

Recommended Secondary Antibodies
I1904-06C: IgG, H&L (HRP) (X-Adsorbed) Pab Gt x Mo I1904-06H: IgG, H&L (HRP) (X-Adsorbed) Pab Gt x Mo
Storage and Stability
Store product at 4°C in the dark. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C for 12 months after receipt as an undiluted liquid. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: MaxLight™650 conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
