Mouse Anti-CD68 (Macrosialin, Macrophage Antigen, SCARD1, Scavenger Receptor Class D Member 1) (FITC)
CD68 is an integral membrane glycoprotein of ~110kD also known as Macrosialin or Gp110. CD68 is predominantly expressed on the intracellular lysosomes of macrophages/monocytes, including Kupffer cells, microglia, histiocytes and osteoclasts, and is expressed to a lesser extent by dendritic cells and peripheral blood granulocytes. Elevated expression of CD68 has been demonstrated on CD34+ cells in various human malignancies, including Acute Myeloid Leukemia. In immunohistochemical studies, CD68 can be used to aid in the identification of blastic NK lymphomas, some B cell lymphomas, and to help diagnose disorders relating to macrophage abnormalities, including malignant histocytosis and Gaucher’s disease.
Applications
Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Although not tested, this clone has also been reported as being suitable for use in immunoprecipitation studies. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Flow Cytometry: Use 10ul to label 10e6 cells in 100ul. Membrane permeabilization is required for this application. Optimal dilution determined by the researcher
Recommended Negative Controls
Mouse IgG1 Negative Control: FITC
Storage and Stability
Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Immunogen
Cell suspensions of human lymph node.

Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.4, 1% BSA, 0.05% sodium azide. Labeled with Fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC).
Purity
Purified by Protein A affinity chromatography from tissue culture supernatant.
Specificity
Recognizes human CD68. Species Crossreactivity: African green monkey
