Mouse Anti-Chorionic Gonadotropin, Human (hCG, Chorionic Gonadotropin alpha Polypeptide, Chorionic Gonadotrophin alpha Subunit, Choriogonadotropin alpha Chain, CG alpha, CG-alpha, CGA, CGA Protein, Chorionic Gonadotropin beta Chain, Chorionic Gonadotropin beta Polypeptide, Choriogonadotropin Subunit beta, Chorionic Gonadotropin beta Subunit, CG beta, CG-beta, CGB)

hCG is a peptide hormone that is composed of one alpha and one beta subunit. hCG shares a common alpha chain with the pituitary hormones FSH, TSH and LH, but has a unique beta chain which is recognized by this antibody. hCG is secreted by placental syncytiotrophoblasts and stimulates the ovaries to produce steroids that are essential to pregnancy.

Applications
Suitable for use in RIA. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Immunogen
Human Chorionic Gonadotropin beta subunit from human pregnancy urine
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2, 0.09% sodium azide.
Purity
Purified by Protein A affinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes the beta subunit of human chorionic gonadotrophin (hCG) and shows 0.5% cross-reactivity with the intact hCG molecule. Negligible reactivity has been observed with hLH, hTSH and hFSH.

Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
