Rat Anti-CITED 2 (Cbp/p300-interacting transactivator with Glu/Asp-rich carboxy-terminal domain 2, MRG1, P35SRJ)
Cited-2 is a 270aa protein that functions by binding to the CH1 region of CREB binding protein (CBP)/p300. This binding interferes with certain transcription factors like HIF1a and STAT2 blocking their ability to bind and interact with CBP/p300. Cited-2 knockout mice die due to defects in heart and neural tube development. Mutations in Cited-2 have been reported in patients with congenital heart defects. It appears Cited-2 modulates apoptosis by a p53 independent pathway whereby the details still need to be elucidated.
Applications
Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested.

Western Blot: 1ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Recombinant corresponding to aa1-269 from mouse Cited-2 expressed in E. coli (O35740).
