Mouse Anti-Cytokeratin 5,8 (FITC)

Represents an excellent marker for distinguishing carcinomas from all non-epithelial tumors. Specifically reacts with cytokeratins 5 and 8 present in nearly all epithelia. Polypeptide reacting: Mr 52,500, Mr 58,000 cytokeratins (type II cytokeratins nos. 5+8) of human epithelial cells. Epitope has been mapped to aa353-367 on alpha helical rod domain.

Applications
Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilution
Immunohistochemistry (Frozen): 1:10 for 1hr at RT. Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin-embedded tissue and cytological material): 1:10 at 4°C O/N. Requires protease pretreatment prior to antibody application. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Positive Controls
MCF-7, RT 112, HT-29, Detroit 562, RPMI 2650, SSC-12, bovine BMGE+H, BMGE-H, MDB cell lines
Storage and Stability
Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Immunogen
Human cytokeratin 8, purified from SDS PAGE.
Form
Supplied as a liquid. Labeled with Fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC).
Purity
Purified by Protein A affinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes human Cytokeratin 5,8. Species Crossreactivity: Bovine, murine, amphibia, porcine and hydra.

Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
