Mouse Anti-DHEA 3 Sulfate (Dehydroepiandrosterone Sulfate, DHEAS)

DHEA is the most abundant hormone in the human body and a precursor of all the sex hormones. It is synthesised principally in the adrenal glands and gonads from cholesterol, through conversion to pregnenolone and 17a-Hydroxypregnenolone, by the action of P450 enzymes. DHEA is mainly found in serum as the sulphated form (DHEAS), a reversible reaction catalysed by sulfotransferase in the adrenal glands, liver and small intestine.

Applications
Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Immunogen
DHEA-3-HS-BSA
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, 0.09% sodium azide.
Purity
Purified by Protein A affinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes Dehydroepiandrosterone Sulfate. This antibody was raised against DHEA but demonstrates greater reactivity with DHEAS. Crossreactivity: DHEAS: 100%, DHEA: 13%, Progesterone: <0.01%, Testosterone: 0.02%. Broad species reactivity is expected.

Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
