Beta Protein 1 BP1, Distal-less Homeobox 4 (isoform a)

DLX (Distal-less) genes are essential for early development. BP1 (beta protein 1) is a homeodomain-containing isoform of DLX4. Strong BP1 expression is seen in placenta and kidney tissue, with no expression found in any other tissue (1). This protein has been shown to be activated in 80% of invasive ductal breast tumors and is associated with breast cancer progression ( 2, 3). It is also expressed in the bone marrows of 63% of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patients (4). In addition, BP1 plays a role in globin gene regulation by repressing the beta- globin gene (1).

Applications
Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
A synthetic peptide made specifically to the human BP1 protein sequence (between residues 1-60). There is no homology with the peptide sequences used for immunogen of this antibody and the DLX4 or DLX7 proteins.

Specificity
This antibody is specific for human BP1. Species Crossreactivity: This antibody reacts with human protein. The immunogen used for this antibody production has 82% homology with mouse BP1 protein.
