Goat Anti-FTH1 (Ferritin, Heavy Polypeptide 1, FHC, FTH, FTHL6, MGC104426, PIG15, PLIF, apoferritin, placenta immunoregulatory factor, proliferation-inducing protein 15) (BSA, Azide, Glycerol Free)
FTH1; ferritin, heavy polypeptide 1; FHC; FTH; FTHL6; MGC104426; PIG15; PLIF; apoferritin; placenta immunoregulatory factor; proliferation-inducing protein 15

FTH1 is the heavy subunit of ferritin, the major intracellular iron storage protein in prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of 24 subunits of the heavy and light ferritin chains. Variation in ferritin subunit composition may affect the rates of iron uptake and release in different tissues. A major function of ferritin is the storage of iron in a soluble and nontoxic state. Defects in ferritin proteins are associated with several neurodegenerative diseases.

Applications
Suitable for use in Peptide ELISA, Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions
Western Blot: A band at ~22kD band was observed in Human Brain (Cerebellum), Liver and Placenta lysates. Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): Shows strong staining of PCT cytoplasm, but not in DCT cytoplasm in human kidney. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Immunogen
Peptide with sequence C-DKHTLGDSDNES, from the C-terminus of human FTH1. (NP_002023.2)
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS.
Purity
Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes human FTH1. Species sequence homology: canine.

Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
