Rabbit Anti-β-Galactosidase (E. coli)

Beta-galactosidase is coded by a gene (lac z) in the lac operon of Escherichia coli. It is a metalloenzyme that splits lactose into glucose and galactose. It hydrolyzes terminal, non-reducing beta-D-galactose residues in beta-D-galactosides.

Applications
Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
ELISA: 1:5000-1:20,000 Western Blot: 1:1000-1:10,000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Immunogen
Beta-galactosidase (E. coli)
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.4, 0.02% sodium azide.
Purity
Purified by Protein G affinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes beta-galactosidase from E. coli showing a 464kD band (tetramer) under non-reducing conditions of SDS-PAGE and 116kD band under reducing conditions.

Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
