Mouse Anti-Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) (MaxLight 650)

MaxLight™650 is a new Far-IR stable dye conjugate comparable to Alexa Fluor™647, DyLight™649, Cy5™ and offers better labeling efficiency, brighter imaging and increased immunodetection. Absorbance (655nm); Emission (676nm); Extinction Coefficient 250,000.

The Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) from the jellyfish Aequorea victoria is used as a fluorescent indicator for monitoring gene expression in a variety of cellular systems, including living organisms and fixed tissues. Unlike other bioluminescent reporters, GFP fluoresces in the absence of substrates, cofactors, or other intrinsic or extrinsic proteins. Purified GFP is a 27kD monomer consisting of 238 amino acids and emits green light (emission maximum at 509nm) when excited with blue or UV light.
Applications
Suitable for use in Immunocytochemistry, Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Optimal dilution to be determined by researcher.
Storage and Stability
Store product at 4°C in the dark. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C for 12 months after receipt as an undiluted liquid. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: MaxLight™650 conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
Immunogen
Bacterial-expressed GFP fusion protein.
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2. No preservative added. Labeled with MaxLight™650.
Purity
Purified
Specificity
Recognizes natural GFP. Directed against a bacterial-expressed GFP fusion protein. Reactivity to eGFP or other mutant varieties is poor to non-existent.

Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
