H3, HisH3, His1H3, H3/a, H3/b, H3/c, H3/d, H3/f, H3/h, H3/i, H3/j, H3/k, H3/l

In diploid eukaryotic cells, the chromatin fibers are about 20nM in diameter. They consist of two major components in equal amounts, DNA and basic proteins called histones. Histones are believed to be regularly arranged in the deep grove of the DNA helix. The recurring positive charges of the histones form electrostatic associations with the negatively charged phosphate groups of DNA making the DNA more stable and flexible. This allows for the supercoiling of the chromatin fibers.

Cellular Localization: Nuclear
Positive Control: MEF and HeLa lysates
Applications
Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence within amino acids 100-200 of human Histone H3.
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2.
Purity
Purified
Specificity
This antibody is specific for Histone H3. Species Crossreactivity: Crossreacts with human and mouse. Expected to crossreact with all Mammals and a wide range of other species due to sequence homology.

Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
