Rabbit Anti-IkB alpha (IkBa)

IkBa protein is a NF-kB inhibitory protein. It binds NF-kB, retains the complex in the cytoplasma, prevents it from entering nuclear and functioning as a transcription factor. Upon receiving a variety of signals, IkBa undergoes phosphorylation at serine residues by a ubiquitin-dependent protein kinases and finally degraded by the proteasome. Free NF-kB then binds to DNA and affects gene expression.

Applications
Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Western Blot: 1:2000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
E. coli-expressed mouse IkBa
Form
Supplied as a lyophilized powder in 0.09% sodium azide.
Purity
Purified by Protein A affinity chromatography.
Specificity
Reacts with mouse IkBa.

Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
