Rat Anti-Interleukin 6 Receptor (CD126, IL-6R)

IL-6 R, also known as CD126, is a transmembrane protein that associates with the signal-transducing subunit gp130 to form a high-affinity receptor complex for IL-6. It is expressed on T cells, activated B cells, and peripheral monocytes. A soluble form of IL-6 R can be released by proteolytic cleavage.

Applications
Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions
Flow Cytometry: 2.5ug/10e6 cells using mouse CD3+ splenocytes Immunocytochemistry: 8-25ug/ml using immersion fixed mouse splenocytes Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
Recombinant protein corresponding to aa20-357 from mouse IL-6R expressed in NSO cells (P22272).
Form
Supplied as a lyophilized powder from PBS, 5% trehalose. Reconstitute with 1ml sterile PBS.
Purity
Purified by Protein G affinity chromatography
Specificity
Recognizes mouse IL-6R. Does not crossreact with rhIL-6R.

Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
