Mouse Anti-MAdCAM-1 (Mucosal Addressin Cell Adhesion Molecule 1) (PE)

Mucosal addressin cell adhesion molecule-1 (MadCAM-1) is a cell-surface immunogloblin (Ig) superfamily member composed of two extracellular Ig domains, followed by a mucin-like domain, a transmembrane domain, and a short cutoplasmic domain. The molecule is similar to ICAM1 and VCAM1. It interacts via its N-terminal Ig domain with the lymphocyte homing receptor alpha4 beta73, which plays a critical role in forming the gut-associated lymphoid system. MAdCAM-1 promotes the adhesion of T and B cells, monocytes/macrophages, and potentially eosinophils, basophils, and differentiated mast cells to the vascular endothelium. At least seven alternatively spliced transcripts encoding different protein isoforms have been found for this gene. The molecular weight is about 43kD, and it is highly expressed on high endothelial venules(VEC) and lamina propia venules found in the small intestine.

Applications
Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Immunohistochemistry, FLISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions
Western Blot: Detects a band of ~60kD, non-reducing conditions Immunohistochemistry: Paraffin sections Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Store product at 4°C in the dark. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C for 12 months after receipt as an undiluted liquid. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: PE conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
Immunogen
Recombinant protein corresponding to human soluble MAdCAM-1-fc fusion protein.
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2. Labeled with R-Phycoerythrin (PE).
Purity
Purified by Protein G affinity chromatography from tissue culture supernatant.
Specificity
Recognizes human mucosal addressin cell adhesion molecule 1 (MAdCAM-1). Does not block the function of MAdCAM-1. |Species Crossreactivity: camel.

Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
