Mouse Anti-MAP2a,b,c (BSA & Azide Free) (Microtubule Associated Protein 2a,b,c) (MaxLight 650)

MaxLight™650 is a new Far-IR stable dye conjugate comparable to Alexa Fluor™647, DyLight™649, Cy5™ and offers better labeling efficiency, brighter imaging and increased immunodetection. Absorbance (655nm); Emission (676nm); Extinction Coefficient 250,000

The expression of MAP2 is developmentally regulated and its multiple forms arise by alternative splicing of a single gene.
Applications
Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilution
Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml for 2hrs at RT. Immunohistochemistry (formalin/paraffin): Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6 for 10-20 min., followed by cooling at RT for 20 min. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Positive Control
IMR-5 or T98G human glioblastoma cells or brain.
Storage and Stability
Store product at 4°C in the dark. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C for 12 months after receipt as an undiluted liquid. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: MaxLight™650 conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap.
Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
Immunogen
Bovine brain MAP2. Cellular Localization: Cytoplasmic. |Epitope: aa1-151.
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2. No preservative added. Labeled with MaxLight™650.
Purity
Purified by Protein G affinity chromatography from ascites.
Specificity
Recognizes the phosphorylated form of bovine MAP2a,b,c and shows no crossreactivity with other MAPs, tau and tubulin. Recognizes MAP2a and MAP2b (~280kD doublet) and MAP2c (70kD). Reacts with dendrites and cell bodies of neurons. Species Crossreactivity: human, rat, Xenopus and quail.

Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
