Mouse Anti-Meta-Pneumovirus (Metapneumovirus, hMPV) (FITC)
Metapneumovirus was discovered in 2001 and is distributed worldwide. Infection in the upper respiratory tract is associated with mild illness, while lower respiratory tract infection can cause fever, cough, pneumonia, bronchiolitis and wheezing. Severe lower respiratory tract infection is most common in the very young, the very old and the immunosuppressed. Metapneumovirus is a common cause of respiratory infection.
Phylogenetic analysis has shown two major genotypes, A and B, each containing two sub-divisions, suggesting that four distinct lineages circulate in the population with different lineages predominating in different years. M3884-49 recognizes the nucleoprotein of all sub-types (A1, A2, B1 and B2) of hMPV and may be used in conjunction with M3884-49A, M3884-49B, and M3884-49C to detect all strains of hMPV.
M3884-49 does not cross-react with cell cultures infected with hRSV, influenzaviruses A and B, adenovirus, parainfluenza viruses 1, 2, 3 and 4b, mumps virus, measles virus, varicella-zoster virus, herpes simplex virus types 1 and 2, human cytomegalovirus, human Herpes virus type 6, ECHOvirus 19, Coxsachievirus B4, poliovirus types 1-3, HHV6 or uninfected HeLa, MA104, 3MK, LLC-MK, HEp2, MRC-5 and HSB-2 cells. It also does not react with sputum bacteria.
Applications
Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
Immunogen
Subtype A hMPV virus isolate NCL034/145.
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2. Labeled with Fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC).
Purity
Purified by Protein A affinity chromatography from tissue culture supernatant.
Specificity
Recognizes the nucleoprotein of all sub-types (A1, A2, B1 and B2) of human metapneumovirus (hMPV).
