Mouse Anti-b2-Microglobulin (b2M)

b2-microglobulin is a 12-14kD subunit of the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I. b2-microglobulin is a non-polymorphic molecule and is not involved in peptide binding but is essential for MHC assembly. b2-microglobulin is also found in free form in the plasma. MHC class I is expressed on most nucleated cells in the caiman, including the red blood cells.

Applications
Suitable for use in Western Blot, Flow Cytometry and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Western Blot: 1:1000-1:2000 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Immunogen
Recombinant protein corresponding to caiman b2-microglobulin.
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.4, 15mM sodium azide.
Purity
Purified by Protein G affinity chromatography from culture supernatant.
Specificity
Recognizes caiman b2-Microglobulin. Reacts with free as well as MHC class I associated b2-microglobulin. Reacts with a non-polymorphic epitope on caiman b2-microglobulin.

Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
