Goat Anti-Mrc2 (Macrophage Mannose Receptor 2, uPARAP, Endo180)

Mrc2 (C-type Mannose Receptor 2; also MMR2, Endocytic Receptor 180 and uPARAP) is a 180-200kD member of the macrophage mannose receptor family of proteins. It is widely expressed, being found on fibroblasts, monocytes/macrophages, endothelial cells, keratinocytes and myoepithelial cells. It binds the carbohydrates Man, Fuc and NAcGlc, type V collagen, and pro-uPA. Mature human Mrc2 is a 1449aa type I transmembrane protein. It contains a 1384aa extracellular region and a 44aa cytoplasmic domain. The extracellular region shows one ricin B-type lectin domain (aa41-167), one fibronectin type II domain (aa182-230) and eight C-type lectin domains (aa244-1393). Over aa 800-1059, human Mrc2 shares 87% aa identity with mouse Mrc2.

Applications
Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Western Blot: 1ug/ml ELISA: 0.5-1ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS, sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
E. coli-derived, recombinant human Mrc2 (aa800-1059).
Form
Supplied as a lyophilized powder from 0.2um filtered solution in PBS, 5% trehalose. Reconstitute with sterile PBS.
Purity
Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes human Mrc2. Species sequence homology: mouse (87%).

Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
