Rabbit Anti-Myc-Tag (c-myc, myc-1 epitope tag) (MaxLight 650)

MaxLight™650 is a new Far-IR stable dye conjugate comparable to Alexa Fluor™647, DyLight™649, Cy5™ and offers better labeling efficiency, brighter imaging and increased immunodetection. Absorbance (655nm); Emission (676nm); Extinction Coefficient 250,000.

Applications
Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Immunoblot: 0.5-2ug/ml of this lot detected a Myc epitope tagged protein in a transfected Cos-1 cell lysate. 1ug/ml of a previous lot detected endogenous Myc in HeLa nuclear extract. A lysate of transfected Cos-1 cells was resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to nitrocellulose and probed with anti-Myc Tag (0.5ug/ml). Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-rabbit secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and a chemiluminescence detection system. Arrow indicates Myc epitope tagged protein (~66kD) Immunocytochemistry: Reported to detect Myc-tagged proteins in transfected cells Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Store at -20°C or colder. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to residues 409-420 of human Myc (MEQKLISEEDLN)
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2. No preservative added. Labeled with MaxLight™650.
Purity
Purified by Protein A affinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes and is specific for human Myc and recombinant proteins containing the Myc epitope tag.

Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
