Mouse Anti-Myosin, Smooth Muscle

Myosin is composed of 2 heavy chains of about 200,000 daltons each and 4 light chains of about 20,000 daltons each. The light chains are of 2 distinct types: the phosphorylatable, regulatory, or MLC2 type, and the nonphosphorylatable, alkali, or MLC1 and MLC3 types (MYL1 according to the HGM symbols).

Applications
Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilutions
Western Blot: 0.25-0.5ug/ml Immunohistochemistry: 0.5-1ug/ml detects smooth Myosin in formalin or acetone fixed frozen tissues and in formalin fixed, paraffin embedded tissues. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile 1.2% sodium acetate or PBS.. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Immunogen
Human uterus smooth muscle extract.
Form
Supplied as a lyophilized powder from 1.2% sodium acetate, 2mg BSA, 0.01mg sodium azide. Reconstitute with 1.2% sodium acetate, PBS.
Purity
Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes human Myosin, Smooth Muscle. Reacts with the heavy chain of both SM2 isofoms. Species Crossreactivity: rabbit, chicken

Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
