Goat Anti-NEFM, Neurofilament, Medium Polypeptide
neurofilament-3 (150 kD medium), neurofilament, medium polypeptide 150kDa, neurofilament triplet M protein, NFM, NF-M, NEF3, neurofilament, medium polypeptide, NEFM

Neurofilaments are type IV intermediate filament heteropolymers composed of light, medium, and heavy chains. Neurofilaments comprise the axoskeleton and functionally maintain neuronal caliber. They may also play a role in intracellular transport to axons and dendrites. This gene encodes the medium neurofilament protein. This protein is commonly used as a biomarker of neuronal damage. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms.

Applications
Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilutions
Peptide ELISA Titer: 1:128,000 Western Blot: 0.03-0.1ug/ml detects ~170-200kD band observed in Mouse Brain lysates (calculated MW of 102kD according to NP_005373.2). The observed molecular weight corresponds to earlier findings with different antibodies from other commercial sources. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to C-QASHITVERKDYLK, from the internal region of human NEFM (NP_005373.2; NP_001099011.1).
Form
Supplied as a liquid in Tris saline, pH 7.2, 0.5% BSA, 0.02% sodium azide.
Purity
Purified by peptide affinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes NEFM. Species crossreactivity: mouse. Species sequence homology: human , rat, canine, porcine, bovine.

Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
