Goat Anti-NT-4 (Neurotrophin 4, Neurotrophin-4, NT4, Neutrophic Factor 4, NTF4, Neurotrophin 4/5, NT-4/5, NTF4/5, Neurotrophin 5, Neurotrophin-5, NT5, NT-5, Neutrophic Factor 5, NTF5, GLC10, GLC1O)

NTF5 is a member of a family of neurotrophic factors, neurotrophins, that control survival and differentiation of mammalian neurons. While knock-outs of other neurotrophins including nerve growth factor, brain-derived neurotrophic factor, and neurotrophin 3 prove lethal during early postnatal development, NTF5-deficient mice only show minor cellular deficits and develop normally to adulthood.

Applications
Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
ELISA: 1:32,000 Western Blot: 0.1-0.3ug/ml, observed in human brain (cerebellum) lysates on ~55kD bands Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide corresponding to FETRCKADNAEEG, from human NTF5, at the internal region of the protein (NP_006170.1).
Form
Supplied as a liquid in Tris saline, 0.02% sodium azide, pH 7.3, 0.5% BSA.
Purity
Purified by immunoaffinity chromatography.
Specificity
Recognizes human NTF5.

Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
