Rat Anti-ProCollagen Type I, NT
Collagen type I is present in soft connective tissue and bone where it represents approximately 90% of the organic matrix. Collagen type I is produced from procollagen when two teloterminal propeptides are digested from the procursor and released into the circulation. The propeptide levels can be measured in serum as indicators of collagen production. Elevated values of these propeptides in serum are found in patients with various bone metabolism defects. Procollagen type I C-terminal propeptide (PICP) has a molecular weight of approximately 100kD and the normal range in serum is 100-300ug/ml.
Applications
Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Not recommended for Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested.
Recommended Dilutions
Immunohistochemistry (Fresh frozen tissue sections): 1:10,000-1:50,000 Immunohistochemistry (FFPE): 1:100-1:1000; Pretreatment with 1% trypsin, 20 minutes at RT. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Immunogen
Human ProCollagen Type I.
Form
Supplied as a liquid.
Specificity
Recognizes human ProCollagen Type I. Labels the amino-terminal pro-peptide. Localized intracellularly in cells producing Pro-collagen I. Does not stain mature collagen fibers in tissue.
