Rabbit Anti-Protein Kinase, Interferon-inducible Double Stranded RNA Dependent Activator (PRKRA, PACT, Retina and Anterior Neural Fold Homeobox Protein, RAX, Retinal Homeobox Protein, Retinal Homeobox Protein Rx, RX, RX Homeobox)

Principal Names: Retinal and anterior neural fold Homeobox (Rax); Retinal Homeobox protein Rx; Official Gene Symbol: RAX Gen Bank Accession Number: NP_038463 Gene ID: 30062 (Human) Gene Map Locus: 18q21.32 (Human) Rax, a novel transcription factor, is a human homolog of Drosophila Rx protein. It is a significant member of Rx protein family and consists of a highly-conserved N-terminal DNA-binding paired-like Homeodomain. It interacts with PCE-1 and is one of the earliest expressed proteins stimulating establishment and proliferation of retinal progenitor cells. Its expression is essential in determining the fate of normal eye development. Irregular expression of Rax has profound effects on eye morphogenesis. Mutations in Rax gene have been detected in clinical conditions like Anophthalmia and Sclerocornea.

Positive Control: Jurkat cell lysate
Applications
Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability
May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Form
Supplied as a liquid in PBS, 0.2% gelatin, 0.05% sodium azide.
Purity
Purified by peptide immunoaffinity chromatography.
Specificity
The amino acid sequence used as immunogen is 100% homologous in human, canine, monkey, 85% homologous in chicken and 78% homologous in zebrafish, mouse and rat. Species Crossreactivity: canine, Human, Monkey

Intended for research use only. Not for use in human, therapeutic, or diagnostic applications.
